Zachary Mayfield Obituary
BAYVIEW GARDENS - Zachary R. Mayfield, 24, of Bayview Gardens, IL, passed away at 8:33 a.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2017.
He was born on March 11, 1993, in Peoria, IL, to Howard R. Mayfield and Shannon A. Dykes.
Surviving are his mother, Shannon (Phillip Leathers) Dykes; father, Howard (Rhonda Doerr) Mayfield; sister, Jessica Mayfield; grandparents, Greg (Pat) Dykes; girlfriend, Kehndra Christianson, all of Bayview Gardens; aunts, Liz Thompson and Sherry LeRoy; uncle, Brad Dykes; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal great-grandparents.
Zach was a painter for Pure Painting in Peoria Heights. He was an avid outdoors man, enjoying fishing and hunting, and a UFC fan. Zach was humble and kind and was always nice to everybody he met. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017, at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel, with the Reverend Bill White officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017, and also one hour prior to his service on Friday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery in Spring Bay, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association Central Illinois Chapter, 606 West Glen Avenue, Peoria, IL 61614.

Shannon, Phillip, Howard, Rhonda, & Jessica I'm so heart-fully sorry for the loss of Zach. I had him as a student at Metamora Township High School. I really thought the world of Zach. He was such a respectful, and fun young man to be around. The most difficult tragedy one can possibly experience in this life here on earth is the loss of a loved one. I pray that you are able to find comfort in knowing that he is home now, and at peace with our Lord & Savior. God bless all of you!

I did not know Zachary but know his father, Howard as he worked at the River Plaza building for some time. I am truly saddened to hear this news. May God ease your pain through these difficult days.

I'm so very sorry to hear about Zach, something like this there are no no words for. I remember when he was a little guy when Shannon lived next door to me on Bayview Dr.,my heart goes out to all of Zach's family & friends. You're all in my thoughts and prayers......
