PEORIA - Jean Lorraine Kreiling of Gilbert, Ariz., formerly of Peoria, Ill., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at the age of 87. She was living in Arizona with her daughter, Jill, at the time of her passing.
Jean was born on Dec. 11, 1922, in Peoria. Her father's name was John Vonachen and her mother's name was Gertrude Rothan. She graduated from Peoria High. She was married for 62 years to Ernest Kreiling, also from Peoria.

May God bless you in your hour of need. I will always remember my dear friend, Jean. I worked with her for 15 years and I enjoyed every time we got together and had lunch or dinner sometimes. She was the sweetest person I ever met.

Jean was indeed a very special person and did make everyone feel special. She was always full of life and filled any room she was in with hapiness. I will miss her Christmas updates! Heaven has another angel.

The Rothan reunion she organized when she came to town for Peoria High's 150th anniversary brought together multiple generations. Our shared ancestor: Joseph Rothan, a Union soldier who came to Peoria after the Civil War. Family ties meant a lot.
