Sarah C. "Sally" Millspaugh, 77, East Stroudsburg, died Tuesday evening, Aug. 5, at Grace Park in Stroudsburg. She was the widow of Raymond H. Millspaugh, who died Oct. 20, 2002.

Born on Nov. 7, 1930, in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of the late William and Cecilia (Nattrass) O'Neill and had lived in the Poconos since 1982, moving from Martinsville, N.J.

She graduated from the Newark School of Fine Arts and also studied at the Trapahagen School of Design and the Art Students League, both in New York.

Sally was a commercial artist and illustrator for more than 48 years. She was an instructor for the Spectrum Institute for the Advertising Arts in Hillsboro, N.J., for 12 years. She also taught art classes at the Pocono Arts Council, Pro-Art, Monroe Career and Technical Institute and the American Ribbon Mill in Stroudsburg.

She held a private pilot's license and began skydiving at age 74.

Surviving are a daughter, Joy C. Warner, and her husband, Kim, of East Stroudsburg; a grandson, Eric G. Warner and his wife, Kelley, of Honesdale; and her treasured friend, Phillip Frace of Stroudsburg, who for the past four years brought her love, laughter and devotion.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate her life for family and friends at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at Faith United Methodist Church, Hill Street, Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Carole Ann Wood officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be sent to Compassionate Care Hospice, 960 N. Main Ave., Scranton, PA 18508.

I would like to express my sympathy to Sally's family. My family and I met Sally through my brother-in-law, Philip Frace. Sally was a very sweet person. Many people were blessed by her.
May the peace of God be with you during your time of sorrow.

Sally was a dear, sweet lady who was an inspiration and friend to everyone she knew. She was like family to my husband, Mark and me. She was my favorite art teacher and I'll always think of her when looking at her paintings or my own or those of her other students. We all knew that orange was her favorite color and each one of my paintings will always have a touch of orange in honor of her. It was obvious that she loved her family and friends.
Thank you Joy, Kim, Eric and Kelley for sharing her.
Thank you Phil for being her good friend.

Sally's priceless talent hangs on our walls. She painted a picture of our home and surrounding greenery and pond....it always makes us smile when we look at it. The attention to detail is one of Sally's attributes.

Sally was a "Giver". Her life was devoted to sharing her love of nature and teaching others to appreciate the beauty in their dailly lives. She was an inspiration and will be sorely missed.

Sally was an inspiration to me from the first moment we met. We worked together for the past six years and I enjoyed every minute of it. She had spirit, spunk and a genuine love of life and all it has to offer. I will miss her dearly.

Sally was the best art teacher I ever had. She also had a great attitude and will be missed by her many students and friends.
My condolences to Joy and her family.

I never knew why my husband chose to live in Pennsylvania after we left Montreal. However, after having taken painting lessons from Sally for over twelve years I knew why we were here. She was a wonderful person and teacher, always so energetic, cheerful and full of wonderful ideas.

I will never forget her. Thank you Sally for everything. I will always miss you. Love, Marylin V. Schiele
