Maxine Wilson Obituary

Maxine Michelle Wilson was born in Gary, IN on June 29,1952 to Eliza Ross and Mack Echols, Jr. Maxine graduated from Emerson High School in 1970 and was a proud Tornado Alumni. She completed a degree in Bookkeeping from Michiana College of Commerce. Maxine dedicated 36 years to the Planning & Community Development Department for the City of Gary. Maxine entered eternal life on Thursday, May 27, 2021. Maxine leaves to cherish warm and fond memories: husband, James K. Wilson of Noblesville, IN; daughter, Mia Michelle Henry (John-Paul) of Fishers, IN; grandson, Jaxson Pryce Henry of Fishers, IN; brothers, Roy Wright of Gary, IN and Mack Echols III of East Chicago, IN; sister-in-law, Holly Echols of Houston, TX; brother-in-law Kim Wilson (Michele) of McCordsville, IN; aunts Ethel Peterson and Dorothy Jean Griffin both of Gary, IN; uncle, Cyrus Walker (Cassandra) of Lady Lake, FL; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Viewing will be at Powell-Coleman Funeral Home on Thursday, June 10th, 2021 from 1;00 p.m – 7 :00 p.m (Family Hours 5:00 p.m – 7 :00 p.m). Services will be held at New Friendship Baptist Church on Friday, June 11th, 2021, at 11am, and also streamed live on Powell-Coleman's Facebook page.
