Ann Drake Obituary

Ann Marie Drake born January 2, 1971 in Chicago Illinois. She was a true blessing to her parents Saundra Love Drake and the late General Drake. Ann accepted Christ at an early age at Greater Northwest Baptist Church in Indianapolis Indiana. Ann was educated in the Gary Public School System where she attended Saint Monica Catholic School, Tolleston Junior High and Westside High School. Ann worked at Subaru Car Parts and Pearson Education Center. She was a very committed and dedicated hard worker. She was an avid swimmer and had a true love for skating. Ann was preceded in death by her father General Drake, paternal grandparents General "Jim" and Berniece Drake her maternal grandparents Zachary "Zeke" and Ellen Love; aunts Eloise (Louis) Tinsley, Louise (Tommy) Drew; cousins Andre' Drake and Tommy Drew. Ann was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, as well as a loyal friend. She was one who loved spending time with her family as much as she could. Ann leaves to cherish her memory: mother Saundra Love Drake of Brownsburg Indiana, brother Kordel (Dana) Drake, and sister Charlotte Cox both of Indianapolis Indiana; uncle Pastor Melvin Drake of Mableton Georgia; aunts, Marva Drake (Ed Hanna) of Lake Orion Michigan, Aiko Drake (KoKo) and Mary Drake both of Indianapolis Indiana; special grandmother better known as Grandma Debbie; Close friends Jeffrey LaMar Wilson, Khinyotta Warren, and Raymon Rodriguez; two godchildren Londyn and Kamden Warren; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 9 to 11:00 a.m. with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. All services at the Guy & Allen chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave. Gary, IN 46404. Rev. Melvin Drake, officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart, IN.

My condolences to the entire family and especially Sandra Drake. Ann was my bestfriend at Westside and we kept in touch up until now. We have so many memories together. I will hold those memories forever in my heart. I can't believe she is gone. But I know she is watching over everyone. I am truly going to miss Ann.
