Booker T. Moore

1941 - 2021

Booker T. Moore, born on March 31, 1941 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Smith Robinson Moore Sr. and Mernett Moore. He gave his life to Christ at an early age. In 1959 Booker T. graduated from Roosevelt High School. In 1961 he married the love of his life Nadine. To that union were born Michael, Gregory and Lisa. He worked for Inland Steel and retired from there after 30 years of service. After retiring from the steel mill, he decided to become a bus driver for the Gary Community School Corp for several years. Booker loved family gatherings, watching sports, barbequing and being a paw paw. Booker made his transition on April 5, 2021 at Vibra Hospital in Crown Point, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Smith Robinson Moore Jr., Henry, Harvey and Bennie; sisters Edna, Esther and Easter. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and caring wife of 59 years Mary Nadine Moore; children Michael (Rachael), Gregory and Lisa (Sean); grandchildren Amaya, Peyton, Maxwell and Mitchel; siblings Angilee, Charles (Joyce), Leon, Morris and Eva and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation Monday April 12, 2021 from 9:00a.m. -11:00a.m. with a celebration of life to follow at 11:00 a.m. All services at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church 977 Chase Street. Pastor Charles Adams Jr. officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
