Douglas Armmer Jr, 92, passed away on April 28, 2021. He was born to the late Douglas and Melissa Armmer Sr in Brighton, Tennessee. He graduated from Frazier High School in 1948. He married the love of his life, Pauline in 1949. To this union, six children were born. Shortly after marriage, the couple moved to Gary, IN. Douglas worked at Arts Bakery and US Steel until his retirement. He accepted Christ as his savior and was a faithful member of the East Glen Park Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Melissa Armmer; wife, Pauline; brothers; Alfred, Lonzola, Fentress, John, and Floyd; sister, Susie Cotton; and grandson, Lance Armmer. He is survived by two sons; Paul Armmer and Kim Armmer; 3 daughters, Madeline (Franklin) Bailey, Terry Armmer, and Altovise (Archie) Ferguson; sister, Lois Garth; sisters-in-laws, Mary Armmer and Grace Holland; brother-in-law, Lawrence Young; 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, May 7, 2021 from 9-11:00am with funeral services to follow at 11:00am. All services will be held at the Guy & Allen Chapel. Brother Edwin Griffith officiating. Interment at Evergreen Memorial Park.

To the Armmer family and friends I extend my deepest condolences. I enjoyed watching your Dad out in the yard all the time as I waved to him as I drove past. He always asked about my Mom and Dad when they were here, and he always greeted me with a hand wave and a smile. RIH Mr. Armmer.
