Michael Carr Milton

1958 - 2021

Michael, "Frog" as he was lovingly called, was born on September 9, 1958 to John and Ruth Milton in Gary, Indiana. He was the youngest of nine children. Michael attended Garnett Elementary and Roosevelt High School, class of 1976. Frog was always an active, playful and loving child. That personality stuck with him throughout his life. You could always count on a big happy smile from him. Michael served his country in the U.S. Army. Afterward, he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he lived until 2010. He moved back to Gary as his health was failing. In 2019 he moved to Chicago to take advantage of the services of the Veterans Administration due to his disabilities. Michael departed this life on March 23, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. at OSF Little Company of Mary Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father, John; mother, Ruth; sisters, Louise and Janet; brothers, Cleveland, Jr., John (Jason), and Johnny (Ick). He leaves to cherish his memory: two sisters, Lucille Rollins of Gary, Indiana and Mary Reynaud of Houston, Texas; one brother, Larry (Gloria) Peterson of St. Paul, Minnesota; a Special Aunt, Mayetta Lenoir; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation Sunday April 4, 2021 from 12 noon – 8:00p.m. Funeral service Monday April 5, 2021 at 11:00a.m. All services at the Guy & Allen Chapel. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
