Valencia Cherrie Smith born November 19, 1970, in Gary Indiana to Ralph Andrew and Martha Aleatha Smith. Valencia departed this life Wednesday, March 24, 2021. Valencia graduated from DuSable High School in Chicago Illinois in June 1988. She received an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris College in Chicago Illinois. She worked as a secretary for several years. She had a flair and passion for makeup artistry. Valencia accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Gary, Indiana where she participated in the youth departments. Valencia was preceded in death by her mother Martha Aleatha Smith and brother Lucas Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory three beautiful children; Nicholas Andrew Smith of Minneapolis Minnesota, Aleatha Janay (Aaron) Honeycutt of Fayetteville Georgia and Rasheed Malik Ross of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren Nicholas A. Smith, Jr., Noraa', Aaron Jr., Naomi Honeycutt and Amar'e, Ariyah, Aryanna Ross of Chicago Illinois; father Ralph A. (Leatrice) of Gary Indiana; aunts and uncles; Mary (Charles) Neely, Elizabeth Smith, Faye Smith and Brenda Smith, Joseph Smith and Benjamin Smith of Chicago Illinois; Gail R. (L.C.) Mangum, Clay O. Bonner and Perrie K. (Daniece) Bonner of Gary Indiana; Cherie D. (Stanley) Butts of Holiday Florida; Kenneth L. (Senovia) Bonner, Joan Dennis and Janette Cobb of New Port Richey Florida and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and other relatives and friends. Visitation, Saturday April, 3, 2021 from 9:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00a.m. all services at Guy & Allen Chapel. Rev. Marlon C. Mack Sr. officiating.
