Preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Clara Haskins.
Survived by spouse of 37 years, Georgie Denise; four sons: Anthony (Janice) of Alexandria, VA, Rickey, Jr., Reverend Raydon (Kim) of Bloomington, IN, Sonny (Caleigh) of Grand Rapids, MI. The joys of his life, his grandchildren: Ananda (Nanda), RaKia (Mommie), Raven (Mooch), Ricky, III (Pooka), Riyah (YahYah); Brothers: Michael, David (Nancy) of Suffolk, VA; Sister, Sharon Johnson of Harvey, IL; Uncle, Harold (Ethel) Haskins of Oakland, CA.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Family Hour 6:30-8:00 p.m. Homegoing Services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Both services will be held at 21st Century Charter School at Gary (Gymnasium), 724 Washington Street, Gary, IN 46402.
NOTE: For the safety of all in attendance, social distancing will be exercised. Mask REQUIRED!
Capacity limits will be enforced to ensure all safety measures will be met.
Plants should be sent to the school at 724 Washington Street, Gary, IN 46402. Hinton & Williams Funeral Home is honored to be of service to the Haskins family during their time of loss.

I would not be where I am today if it wasnt for the help and mentorship of Coach Haskins. He was always there for me and other students and I cant help but to grieve with his family at this time. Known throughout the city Haskins was a pioneer for many and an outspoken character not afraid to speak his mind; thats what made him special. This loss is tough for myself and so many others but it was a pleasure learning from Haskins and knowing him as a man, I wouldnt have wanted it any other way. My condolences, but he will always be with me and all of us. I thank God for sharing him with me and others . ❤

Our hearts are with the Haskins family, as his life here on this side of Heaven is celebrated. Mr. H (as we called him) was one of the sweetest and most soft-spoken men we've had the pleasure of meeting. We weren't family by blood, but he was part of our family and neighbor for 15 years. We will miss seeing you from our kitchen window enjoying God's beautiful work. May your life in Heaven continue to flourish and light up the heavens as it did here on Earth. We're praying for strength, healing, and peace for Mrs. H and the family.

My sincere condolences to the family of Coach Haskins. I have known and worked with Coach for many years. I have seen him influence the future of so many young people. I can't remember a time entering 21st Century gym and didn't see Coach. He will be greatly missed. May God bless this family and strengthen them during this time.

Coach Haskins kept me going in high school. When no other school would accept me he kept me focused. He supported our girls team like no other. He got me doing track and being involved and around the right teachers and adults so I wouldnt Be in trouble. I am forever grateful for you coach. I wish you could see how much things have changed in my life.
