Leonard Suehs Obituary

Leonard E. Suehs, age 89, of Manawa, went to his Heavenly home on Monday, October 17, 2011. He was born on July 1, 1922 in the Town of Little Wolf, son of the late Fred and Helen (Handrich) Suehs. Len was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa in 1936, and he graduated from Little Wolf High School in 1940. On December 26, 1956 he married Beulah Towne Virchow. Leonard farmed in the Town of Little Wolf for many years. He enjoyed playing the trombone in different bands. He also enjoyed hunting, bowling, but especially spending time with family. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa, where he sang in the choir, and also served on various committees over the years.

He is survived by his wife Bea Suehs; sons: Roger (Gloria) Suehs, Roy (Sue) Suehs; daughter: Linda (Paul) Kirchner; grandchildren: Nathan, Rachel, Rebecca, Daniel, Christopher and Nicole; sister: Viola Yohr. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Erna and Hazel; and a brother-in-law Leo Yohr.

The funeral service for Len will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. H. William Jordan and Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery in New London. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa on Friday from 4-8 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
