Michael Firgens Obituary
Michael Gerald Firgens, of Neenah, age 52, died Thursday, February 14, 2013. He was taken away to soar high above in the sky. Mike fought a long, hard battle with cancer, and now he is at peace.
Mike was born and raised in Keshena, WI, son of Eugene Firgens and Julia "June" Corn. He spent his adult years in Neenah, where he met and married Mary Leurquin, and they raised their family there. Mike was a hard worker and was employed with the Neenah Foundry for 27 years. Some years in between he worked in the woods in his native land, the Menominee Indian Reservation, as a logger for his uncle, Jimmy Corn.
Mike loved to hunt and fish, go camping and to just enjoy time with family and friends.
A family man who was dedicated to his wife and family, he will be sadly missed by his wife of 28 years, Mary Firgens; their three children: Joshua Firgens, Erin Firgens, Erica Firgens; three grandchildren: Kylie Reuter, Jonathan and Natalie Molash; His mother, Julia "June" Corn; his brothers and sisters: Candice Firgens, Kenneth Firgens, Eleanor (Richard) Olson, Iris Firgens, Patrick (Patricia) Firgens, Melanie Firgens, and Roger Corn; two brothers-in-law: Ronald (Cary) Leurquin, Lloyd (Dawn) Leurquin; his father and mother-in-law, Ronald and Dorothy Leurquin.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Firgens.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Huff officiating. The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

I was blessed to have Mike as my friend and coworker I will remember the time we spent fishing and the time we spent together when he was battleing the cancer.
