Erica Baumgart Obituary
Appleton - Erica Lynn Baumgart - March 20, 1992 - July 8, 2020. Those who knew Erica will remember her for her heartwarming smile, unforgettable laugh and soul calming hugs. When you were around Erica you felt at peace with yourself and the world. She had a passion for life and for living every day as if it was going to be her last. She loved to travel and see the world, in particular her two favorite destinations - Hawaii and Alaska, which she just recently returned from.
Erica supported many great causes and could fundraise with the best of them. It only took one conversation with Erica before you had a friend for life. She was also known for supporting you and encouraging you to pursue any dream with tenacity and passion. Erica was new to being an aunt, but she was the best Aunt for the few weeks she had the privilege. She loved to watch her flower garden grow, barefoot and all. When Erica was younger, she was a part of Webfooters Water Ski Team and has since continued to ski and loved her Tuesday nights on the water. Erica also enjoyed bike riding and raising money for the National MS Society by participating in the Best Dam Bike Ride. Over the past 5 years she has raised in excess of $32,000.
Erica is survived by her parents, Mike and Pat Baumgart, her sister and brother in law, Ashley and Adam Aleson, and niece Charlotte, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who are considered family, especially Kara, Josh and Jim.
There will be a visitation at Valley Funeral Home Friday July 17th, from 3 pm - 7 pm, and Saturday July 18th from 9 am to 1 pm followed by a short service. If you don't feel comfortable attending the service, the family would like you to join the live stream held on the Valley Funeral Home Facebook page.

I did not know your Erica but I'm so very sorry for your immense loss. I'm only a little older than your Erica.
I googled my own name (Erica Baumgart) and found this page. I've been researching the Baumgart family tree for decades. If anyone would like to connect, you can reach me at helloericab at gmail . com - I am on ancestry with my own dna linked to my tree to help authenticate that I'm just a hobby genealogist. My Baumgart line is from Buffalo NY but I know there were Baumgarts that moved to WI, I just don't have that link yet figured out. I live in Canada - my line moved from Germany in 1886 to Buffalo then to Canada around 1900.

Hard to believe it´s already been two years...
I´ll always remember Erica and her, with that sweet, happy, smiling face, running up to cheerfully visit with me on the Huntley School playground. What a fun kid even then!

Pat, I wanted to come to your home to give you a hug but I was unable to find your address. Unfortunately I do know the gut wrenching pain you are in right now but I want to reassure you that you will survive. You will smile again, you will laugh again and eventually you will feel happiness. The pain never goes away but you will learn to cope with it. I promise. I'm so sorry to hear about Erica's passing, I'm glad I was able to meet her when I did at all of the Michelin events, she was always a blast to be around, full of energy and always ready to speak her mind.

I never had the pleasure to meet you but my husband, Corey Olson, did. He was devastated to hear of your passing. He had known Mikey for years and when he wasnt there he dealt with you. I always remember him saying how he liked to mess with you saying he always told you he liked dealing with your Dad better because he always got a better Deal. You would expect nothing less from him! Sarah Jean got to know Erica at North through Key Club, and Bruce and I got to know Erica through the shop. She was a bright light, someone who had it all together at a young age, and like everyone is saying....THAT SMILE. It is very evident that Erica gave away far more than she ever received, and found joy in doing so. Our heart aches for all of you.

I can't believe we are having to deal with this right now. My heart is hurting for her and the family. She was such a nice person. She was really good friends with my boyfriend and sister so I've known her for awhile. Whenever I saw her she always had a smile on her face. She always took care of who ever was in the room. To Mike&Pat and Family,
I got to know Erica when I first came to Baumgart Tire. She was so bubbly and smiled and you always knew that she cared about each and every person that came into Baumgarts. She was a person that would be there for you whenever you called and had problems with your vehicle. I will continue to keep you and your whole family in my thoughts and prayers in the days coming forth. I can't say it will ever get totally better about the fact that you'll be missing her, but what I try and do is to remember the memories that I had with her. And also as I said to my mom and my dad and my brother when they passed away, it is only until we meet again in God's heavenly kingdom where there is no more pain or suffering.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Erica was a delightful bright spot in every day, and as a parent of a classmate, I looked forward to visiting with her on the Huntley playground, in the classroom and on field trips. Ericas boldness and talent were exciting to watch in the Webfooters, and her bubbly, cheerful enthusiasm and giving spirit were still evident as she supported MS and explored the world. My heart breaks for everyone who shares in this sad loss. She will be missed.

Mike, Pat and family, we are in shock! Erica was the sweetest person and so smart. We always enjoyed supporting her MS fundraisers by buying candy bars every time we stopped in. Sometimes we even made special trips to get them and see her. We also enjoyed visiting with her and seeing her smiling face. Our hearts are breaking for your entire family.
