Michael Lehman Obituary

Town of Dale - Michael David Lehman, age 50, passed away on May 4, 2021, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Appleton, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 29, 1971 in Berlin Wisconsin to Gerald and Marylee Lehman. Michael grew up on the family farm in Pine River. He attended grade school in Poy Sippi and was a graduate of Berlin High School. He was also a graduate of UW-Oshkosh where he earned a degree in education.

Michael enjoyed teaching and recently celebrated 25 years of employment at Neenah High School. Even though Michael taught various science classes throughout the years, his favorite memories included chaperoning dances, working at track meets, and being involved with Science Olympiad. He cherished his time spent with students and his office mates.

More than anything, Michael loved God and his family. He was an associate pastor of the Pine River Congregational Church with his sister. He loved that little country church and gospel hymns. He was known to sing the hymns while showering loud enough for everyone in the household to hear.

Michael married his high school sweetheart, Kelly Peschke, on November 5, 1995, at Grace English Lutheran Church in Berlin. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary last year. Michael and Kelly have two children, Annabelle and Zeb. Michael's kids were his pride and joy. He loved to attend their school functions and sporting events throughout the years. He volunteered where needed and especially enjoyed coaching their recreational softball teams. Michael was so proud of their accomplishments and bragged often about his daughter studying at UW-Platteville and his son going off to UW-Madison this fall.

Michael always had a smile on his face and enjoyed life. He was fond of the outdoors and spent many years hunting deer and turkeys. He loved trap shooting with his son and family. His vegetable gardens and fruit trees brought him much joy over the years. He liked to tinker in his garage and completed many woodworking projects. Michael and his family loved Disney and took many trips to Walt Disney World together. His family will always remember his love for Dole Whips and his enjoyment of going on the Tower of Terror repeatedly with his daughter. Michael was a science fiction fan and loved anything associated with Marvel Comics. He enjoyed cooking shows and was always looking for new recipes. He liked to cook with his smoker and grill. Some of his favorite pastimes with his wife and kids included watching movies and playing games.

Michael will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Kelly; his children, Annabelle and Zeb; parents, Gerald and Marylee; siblings, Lauri (Joe) Schneider, Shari Floyd, Mary (Jeff) Rodencal, Matthew Lehman, Mark (Becky) Lehman, and Jonathon (Rebekah) Lehman; and special family members, Ken (Sandy) Peschke, Jerry (Amy) Bartol, and Cindy. Michael was also the proud uncle of many nephews and nieces.

Even though you were always adamant about saying "bye, love you," this is not goodbye dear Michael...it is only "see you later." We look forward to seeing you again in heaven. We know you will be greeting us with open arms the next time we see you!

Michael's life will be celebrated with a private family service at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. A memorial has been established to assist with the children's college education. What I will miss most about Mike was the talks he and I had whenever we had the chance to meet up outside. He was the most kind and helpful next door neighbor anyone could ask for. He was always there to help out in any way he could, from plowing our driveway when I couldn't, mowing my lawn when on vacation or giving us all the zucchini and squash we could eat. I will miss you Mike....See you in heaven someday!

His compassion for his students, especially those with learning disabilities was extraordinary. I was always happy when assigned to his classroom. Godspeed Mr. L.

Michael was such a good man. He walked the walk and stepped up to the plate every day. We had a few good conversations about spiritual things and how much he loved his family. I worked with Mike when I was a special education aide at Neenah High School. He will truly be missed.

Heaven gained a powerful warrior. Amazing man. Wonderful father. He was like a second dad to my daughters. God bless his beautiful family, who we love. Kelly, Annabelle, Zeb--we are sending love and prayers.
