Mary Ann Rettinger

1919 - 2015

Mary Ann Rettinger, 95, of Canonsburg, died Monday, January 5, 2015. Family and friends are saddened by the loss of their dear mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt and friend.
She was born April 19, 1919, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Guy and Beatrice Volpe Altieri.
Mrs. Rettinger was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Cecil Township.
She was also a member of Cecil Hilltoppers and Canonsburg Senior Citizen Dart League.
Mrs. Rettinger enjoyed dancing, cooking and spending time with family.
She was previously a group leader at Radio Corporation of America and Tectic. Following her retirement, she worked at Shop 'n Save in Bridgeville, serving coffee and making many friends.
Surviving are a son, Leonard (Joyce) Rettinger Jr. of St. Charles, Ill.; a daughter, Sharon (Joe) Sciulli of West Middlesex; five grandchildren, Natalie (Greg) DePace of St. Charles, Cheryl (Chad) Kunkel of Geneva, Ill., Leonard Rettinger III of Milford, Iowa, Joe (Christine) Sciulli of Chester Springs and Mike (Katie) Sciulli of Cranberry; 12 great-grandchildren, Gregory and Emily DePace, Alex, Abigail, Blake and Ben Kunkel, Lillie and Ty Rettinger and Lauren, Caroline, Victoria and Isabell Sciulli; two brothers, Guy (Mary) Altieri of Cecil Township and Sylvan (Sandy) Altieri of Bethel Park; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased are her husband, Leonard L. Rettinger Sr., who died in 1992; five brothers, Maneric, Alvin, Sylvan, Anthony and Onoreno Altieri; and a sister, Velia Johnston.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil, where departing prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Friday, January 9, followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Cecil, with Father Stan Gregorek officiating. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Peters Township.
