To all the Burke family, Please accept my deepest condolences on the death of Steve. I have so many fond memories of Steve from FFOG meetings, and particularly all the many golf outings Steve and I had all over the U.S. I have a picture of Steve in my office from one such outing at Bandon Dunes, Oregon.
In addition, I will be wearing my Steelers' sweatshirt today in Steve's honor, and in remembrance of the great weekend Steve, Gail and Chip spent with us during Super Bowl XL here in Detroit. I will keep all of you in my prayers, today and in the days to come. All my best, Dick Connell

Dear Burke Family -
I want to express my heartfelt sympathies at this difficult time for your family. I was very saddened to hear of Steve's passing and will miss seeing him at the many investment functions around town. He always had a big smile and kind words to say. Steve also touched my life in other ways -with generous contributions to North Hills Community Outreach where I had served as a board member and Shaler Elementary school, where my daughter had the benefit of using the simulation lab funded by the foundation. He will be missed by many and I hope you can find some comfort in your memories of Steve.

To the Burke family, We all want to extend our sympathy, loving thoughts and hugs to all of you during this very difficult time. Working at the FCGC Pool snack stand waiting on him and all of you was always a pleasure. Mr. Burke was always so nice and treated us with respect. You could tell that he was a wonderful person and loving husband and father. Once again words can not express how sad we are for your loss.
Regards,
Denise, Raine, Devin, and Ry Jones

Dear Gail, Chip and Peter,
I can not tell you how shocked and saddened I was when fraternity brother Bruce Miller called to tell me what happened. I first met Steve at UVa and have great memories. Numerous backgammon and golf friends from the Chicago area extend their sympathies.
Some of the best memories of Steve are the simplest. When he lived in 4-Lakes Village in Lisle with me every Friday night we would play racquetball then go eat, many times just barbecuing. Summer Saturdays were spent golfing with friends...Chris Stanford, Bill Davis, Bob Eiden, Frank Mrozek and others.
Steve was very fortunate to have met you Gail, and have two fine sons. He was so proud of you two guys! As a family you all did so much...the travel, bike trips, events...and will have those fantastic memories forever.
I will miss Steve a lot...
