RICHARD ANDREW "ANDY"
Passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014, at his home in Ohio Township. He was born July 7, 1977, the beloved son of Richard Hay and Judith Mehaffey Hay; he is also survived by his sister, Katherine Hay Lovett; and his brother-in-law, Rob Lovett; Andy was the cherished uncle of Maggie, Robbie and Luke Lovett; he will be sorely missed by his three uncles, aunts, and many cousins. Andy was a 1996 graduate of North Catholic High School and he then graduated from Campbell University in North Carolina in 2000, where he had a Division I golf scholarship. Andy was a terrific amateur golfer who competed in Western Pennsylvania State and National events. He was also an accomplished hockey player in his youth at North Catholic and with the amateur Penguins. Andy was a sweet man with never a harsh word or thought for anyone. He was loved by so many and will be sorely missed. Services were held privately for the family. The family requests donations be made in Andy's name to The First Tee of Pittsburgh, 5370 Schenley Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15217. Arrangements were entrusted to the ORION C. PINKERTON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-766-5600.

I spent quite a bit of time with Andy at Campbell and will never forget our Spring Break trip to Myrtle Beach in 2000 where we had a wonderful time. Andy had a great sense of humor and thank you for allowing us to spend time with him.

Andy and I played golf together at Campbell. I'll never forget what a great friend he was and how we would laugh and joke in all of our classes (especially accounting where our professor did head stands. We always joked about ditching that crazy class). I'm so sad to hear of his passing. My prayers go out to you at this time. Judy and Dick:

We sat together for dinner during an award trip to the Arizona Biltmore when we were with Paine Webber 15 years ago or so. We talked mostly about golf and Andy's accomplishments at the sport. Dick was singing Tony Bennett's song "It had to be you." A speciall time had by all.
I cannot even begin to imagine what you are going through now. Please know you have my heartfelt sympathy.
