Emil Gyekis Obituary
EMIL
95, passed away Monday night, December 20, 2004 in Wellsboro, PA. Emil was born May 14, 1909, the seventh child of Henry and Gisella Gyekis in Pittsburgh, PA. He and his wife, Catherine Ethel celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary December 19, 2004. He was a gold cardholder of the American Federation of Musicians. At one time he was a staff musician with WJAS radio station in Pittsburgh, PA. For over 40 years he was the drummer with the Lee Kelton orchestra. Besides his wife, he is also survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kerry and Janet of Morris, PA, two grandsons and their wives, Keto and Kathryn Evonne of Delton, MI, and Raed and Katherine Ann and their 13 month old (Emil's great-grandson) Kahlin Emil of Fountain, CO; a brother, George (Pete) of Pgh., PA and many nieces and nephews. A family service was held at his son's home outside of Morris, PA. Arrangements by TUSSEY-MOSHER FUNERAL HOME, a "Life Celebration Home", 139 Main St., Wellsboro, PA.
