KATHLEEN GELATKO Obituary
76. On November 11, 2009, the Lord called his servant, Kathleen, home. She had a passion for education and science and earned a Bachelors of Science in Education from Carlow College and then a Masters degree in Education from Duquesne University. She fulfilled her biggest dream by earning a doctorate in education from the University of Pittsburgh in 1980. Kathleen taught at many levels throughout her career. She initially taught elementary school, was a principal, and later taught college. She held several positions at the Diocese of Pittsburgh. One of her last positions was teaching adults with special needs for The Martin County School Board in Stuart, Florida where she resided for the past 25 years. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Anna Gelatko. She is survived by her loving sister Magdalene C. Laczko and nephew James M. Laczko of Munhall, PA. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Theresa of Lisieux Church in Munhall, PA on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 9:30 am.
