I just learned today of the passing of Dr. Dunegan. He was the most wonderful doctor that I have known. I have not found another pediatrician who makes telephone calls or visits to your home to check on the status of your child when he or she is sick. He will be greatly missed. There is no doubt in my mind that he is safely home with his Heavenly Father.

I am sorry to hear of Dr. Dunegan's passing. He was a great doctor for some of my siblings, and for their children as well. I always enjoyed his letters to the editor. He was wonderful at leading the rosary before the 11:00 Latin Mass at St. Boniface Church. He will certainly be missed by the Catholic and Pro-Life communities in Pittsburgh. May he rest in peace in Heaven.

I worked for Dr. Dunegan for only one year and half but he left such a lasting impact on me. Even now, after thirteen years, I still say: "but Dr. Dunegan said..." He truly touched the hearts of many, many people. I'm sure God has a very special place for him in heaven.

I am sorry to say I feel there will never be another doctor on this earth that measures up to the kind-hearted and knowledgable man that Dr. Dunegan was. When he closed his practice, no where could I find a doctor that answered your call at 3am personally, or have special telephone hours just for sick children or questions. My children and many of my friends and families children were patients of his. We have greatly missed him long before his passing. To his family you have my sympathy.

Dr. Dunegan was recommended to me by the late Dr. James Gilmore when my daughter Dorothy was born. He was so kind, so gentle and caring, that my daughter's earliest ambition was to be a doctor. Her interest in the "helping professions" never wavered, and she is now a geriatric social worker. She will be sad to hear of his passing; but if he was ill, it is a mercy that he is now at peace. Our deepest sympathy to his wife and family.

Dr Dunegan was a great doctor for some of my siblings, and for their children as well. He was a great pro-life voice in Pittsburgh, and I always enjoyed him leading the rosary before the Traditional Latin Mass at St Boniface. Let us all pray to Jesus, and Mary our Blessed Mother, for him that he may find the eternal joy of Heaven.

Dr. Dunegan was my Pediatrician for 24 years. His insight added to the develpoment in their life and mine. He is irreplaceable.

Endless giving was his nature. Advise, community information and a wealth of education was included with the medication to make our children healthier adults.

A big smile for Christmas cookies is something I will never forget.

He is missed.

Dr."D" will always be in our prayers and thoughts.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Dunegan for 11 years and during that time we became friends.

Over coffee (and his extra cookie), we would have discussions on things other than work.

It was a very sad day for many when he decided to close the office. Dr Dunegan was a very kind and respected gentleman. He is missed.

I remember the day he told me of his illness. Such courage in the face of evil, the evil of cancer, was inspiring. He follows other heroes who fought against enormous odds. We always looked forward to his coming to the PCUC office. He always inspired us by his logic, his faith, and his steadfast holiness. His letters to the editor were the best!

We on the PCUC Board of Directors were unanimously delighted with the opportunity to present him with our Founder's Award. A photo I treasure is one with Larry and Mary Winter, for whom the award is named.

Frank and I met his son at Laughlin's today. I never knew him when he was young, but the handsome young man who greeted us was definitely a young Larry.

His dying makes ours easier. If he can do it, so can we.

I met Dr. Dunegan when I was pregant with my first daughter Emma and immediately knew he would be the man to care for my children. During the many visits I made to his office on Cedar Blvd, first with Emma, and then with her sister Annie, Dr. Dunegan was kind, attentive, and patient. He listened to my concerns, answered my questions and confirmed that children are a blessing from God and that being a good mother is valuable. I'm sorry for your loss, but my husband and I rejoice in the fact that Dr. Dunegan is home with our Lord Christ.

Our city has lost a great treasure. We spent hours together discussing the education issues and their impact on young people. I have very much missed our talks since he became ill.

He never put his light under a bushel, but lived as a light on a hill... a beacon for so many.

Our tears can only be for ourselves who will miss him greatly, but our hearts rejoice that he is walking and talking to our Precious Savior whom he served his whole life.

He has at last heard the words we all long to hear. "Well, done good and faithful servant.".. Julie Dillenburg, Commonwealth Education Organization

Dr Dunnegan was a wonderful pro-life friend. As well as the physical health of his patients, Larry was as concerned for their spiritual well being. A visit from him to your home was never a problem if his expertise was needed. Once when our Granddaughter was young she came down with a very high fever. Her doctor was in Indiana so Dr. Dunnegan took care of her for us. His great intelligence, gift for writing and his incredible memory will be missed by the Catholic Community and the Pro-Life movement. Requiescat in Pace
