My loving husband, Stan:
It will be one year on July 17 when the hospital told me it was time. You fought so hard to stay with the family and me, that you amazed everyone. It wasn't right that an infection was what took you away from us. I miss you every day and keep tears flowing behind my eyes. I know that this guest book will be gone on July 18th, but I want all to know that without you I am lost. You made me laugh so many times with your humor. You loved me so much all the time, and sometimes I wondered why. You were so talented, so bright, so kind. All the children loved you. Our little cat Clover is okay, and the grandchildren are growing fast. Little Alina looks me in the eys and says, "I miss pap-pap, everyone misses pap-pap." She is the sweetest thing. She brings sunshine to my lonely soul. I will always love you.
Your wife always.

Dear Jan,
Please accept my heartfelt sympathies. We spent so much time together in those waiting rooms at Presby that I felt your family had become mine also. My love goes out to you and your children and eventually you and Stan and Jim and me will have that dinner together.
Love,
Jim and Carol Mete
