On Monday, August 22, 2016, after a long illness and surrounded by his family, Pasquale "Pat" went home with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Margarita Ziccarelli Ionadi; daughter, Rose Imbarlina (Marco); and son, Patrick Ionadi (Constance) and preceded in death by his beloved son, Phillip. He is survived by his seven grandchildren, Maria Ballantine (Bradley), Joseph Imbarlina (Cindy), Marguerite Finch (Jeffrey), Rose Anselmino (Mathew), Patrick, Richard and Antonio Ionadi; and his 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Rosa Ionadi; brother, Paul Ionadi; and sister, Virginia Costa. He is also survived by his sisters, Concetta DeGaetano, Rose Asturi (Augustino); brother, Anthony Ionadi (Marlene); and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Ionadi traveled as a baby with his parents to live in Maierato, Italy and at the age of 13 he returned to America. Mr. Ionadi had the tenacity and business sense to start Pat R. Ionadi Corporation in 1972, which functioned as a prominent concrete company that helped build iconic Pittsburgh landmarks, such as the Pittsburgh Convention Center, PNC Park, Pitt Convocation Center, the Mon Incline and many Giant Eagles. Additionally, he was an entrepreneur and owner of the former Tiffany's Restaurant which later became Phillip's in the Webster Hall in Oakland. During his retirement years he enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his family. Friends will be received at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS, INC., (freyvogelfuneral home.com), 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street on Wednesday 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Thursday, Mass of Christian Burial St. Raphael Church, 1154 Chislett Street 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Alzheimer's Association or Forbes Hospice.
