So sorry to hear that your father passed away. He was a great cousin of mine. Our mothers were sisters and I have lovely memories visiting them when we were children and they lived in Shaler Township. I am seven years older than your father was. We had lunch together with other cousins a couple times at Grant Bar in Millvale where his business was. There aren't many cousins living anymore. I always enjoyed talking with your dad.

Joe Wirth was a quiet deliberate and patient man and was quite a salesman as he had a great ability to communicate without offending the listener even if he was advocating a position that was not aligned with that of the listener. Enjoyed interacting with him on many occasions. He was PROUD of his son Joseph G. Sorry I will be away and cannot participate in the celebration on the 22nd. My condolences to his family.

Joe was steady, honest, and a visionary when presiding over the Calais Village Board for ten years. Under his leadership, property values and a stunning campus flourished. Joe's close neighbors miss their little hallway chats with him. Behind Joe's warm smile, he always had something positive to share. Peace be with you Joe.

So sorry to hear about this. Joe was one of my mentors at Keyes Fibre Company back in 1970-72. I was only 24 and he took me in and taught me so much about sales and marketing. He will be missed.
