Linda Venola Eddington Boren, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from complications incident to age, just two weeks after celebrating her 90th birthday.
She was born March 23, 1925, in Sugar-Salem, Idaho, the second daughter and sixth of seven children to James Lorenzo Eddington and Mary Linda Anderson Eddington. The family relocated to Charlo, Mont., where she was raised. They later moved to the Seattle area in support of World War II industrialization efforts. It was there Venola met a U.S. Navy man, Paul Ray Boren, at church. They "eloped" to the Mesa, Ariz., LDS Temple and spent the rest of their lives together.
Venola was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings, including service in a Young Women's presidency in her 80s.
She was a gregarious woman who seemed to be related in some way to every person she met and enjoyed listening to the life stories of even the most casual acquaintances. She loved to dance, sing and throw parties.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, and her parents and all of her siblings, including her beloved sister, Thellis.
She is survived by 104 descendants, including her four children, Paulette Rae (David) Packer of Idaho Falls; Murray (Susan) Boren of Orem, Utah; Lee (Julie) Boren of Idaho Falls; and Kelly (Eileen) Boren of Gilbert, Ariz.
The family offers a special thanks to the many friends who made her recent 90th birthday celebration "the best day of my life."
Funeral services will be at noon Friday, April 17, at Stonehaven LDS Ward, 2055 Coronado St., with Bishop Nate Hunsaker officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St.

We are so sorry to hear of Venola's passing. She was a joy to be around. Always had that spunk and zeal for life. We new her when she was at Elk Creek and was in her ward. We know that she is reunited with her husband and loved ones. Cherish the good times you had with her.
