Christopher "Mole" Bergmann, 37, of Boise, Idaho, passed away suddenly Tuesday, June 5, 2012.
Chris was born Dec. 16, 1974, in Boise, the son of Larry Bergmann and Nancy Bergmann.
He graduated in 1993 from Skyline High School in Idaho Falls. After high school, Chris moved to Boise and attended Boise State University, graduating with a degree in human resources management and business administration.
Chris worked for the USDA-NRCS in human resources and was appointed by the governor to serve as a member of the Governor's Idaho Vocational Rehabilitation Council.
Chris was a remarkable young man who always handled any challenges life threw at him with the utmost dignity. He was truly a role model and was loved by so many. He walked a long and important path among us, touching so many lives and impacting so many people.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Bergmann of Idaho Falls; his father and stepmother, Larry Bergmann and Florine Bergmann of Roberts, Idaho; his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Rachel Bergmann of Boise; his sister and brother-in-law, Stacy and Jim McGowan of Idaho Falls; his beautiful nieces, Kimberly Sargis, Stephanie Wielang, Jessie Sargis, and Paige and Presley Bergmann, who remember their wonderful uncle for his amazing smile and his everlasting supply of double bubble!; his stepsister, Terri Jo Martinez of Milton-Freewater, Oregon, and her sons, Joshua and Jordon; and his stepbrothers, Greg Shults, Jeff Shults and Jason Shults and their families.
Chris, or "Mole" as he was known by friends and loved ones, had a strong faith in God, was not afraid to take a stand on his beliefs and enjoyed the sunshine, fishing and hunting, teasing his friends and family, and most of all, Da Bears.
Chris will now be reunited with his greatest companions, Willie and Muz, his Yellow Labs. The long talks, fishing and hunting trips with his greatest friend, his brother, Mike, will certainly leave a void.
Mole, your call to heaven was much too soon ... words can't express how much we love and miss you.
There are so many who supported Chris throughout his life, a big thank you to every one of you, especially Shawna Southwick, who he referred to as M2 (Mom), and Jackie Hardwood, as his older sister.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Chris' name to Ride for Joy, a therapeutic riding program for kids with disabilities, online at www .rideforjoy.org.

Just wanted to let you know how much I will miss Chris. I had the honor of meeting him several years ago when I came to Idaho to give some training to some of the HR staff. Chris and I would talk, e-mail or Instant Message regularly. We could always make each other smile and laugh! We would talk about everything from families to work to politics to sports and whatever else came to our minds! He would always razz me about my hometown team the Sacramento Kings…I would always tell him win or lose they're my team just as "da Bears" were his team! Chris was an intelligent, funny and caring person…there is a special place in my heart for him. Love you and miss you my friend.

I meet Chris about 7 years ago in Seattle at a Conference for the Feds, he and I had lunch together and have been friends ever since (even though I have never seen him again…I live in Alaska) . He was one of those people when you meet him you instantly liked him…. What a great guy.
I am so sorry for your loss and this sad time. I hope you find great comfort knowing Chris is where we all hope to be someday.
Tomorrow it's Mable bar and bacon for me… cheers to you Chris and thank you for being such a good friend to me.

Mike, Rachel, Nancy, Larry, and everyone else...I am sooo sorry! Mole was just part of the gang, and a little brother to all the guys! He was sooo loved...he always had a smile to share, regardless of how bad things were...He will be missed dearly! You all will be in our thoughts and prayers...as his time with us was much too short! But what an example of perseverance he has left behind! Hugs to you all! Much love, Aimee Griggs and Scott Anderson

Blessed are those who come before us, and walk not in shoes but through angel wings, and carry us to higher places, higher levels. I am positive I have missed the opportunity to say one more time, Thank you Chris...for all that you do and all that you gave. "Nobody who ever gave his best regretted it." (George S. Halas)

You will be missed. I keep looking on Facebook and checking the poke button and feel sad every time I see that it says you have not received my poke yet. It sounds silly, but I loved that we poked each other every day. I loved reading your posts, your positive attitude and seeing your sweet smile! I will miss you. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. xo.
