In Loving Memory of

Beverly J. Bergmann

(nee Burns)

February 10, 1933 - March 18, 2026

Beverly passed away peacefully, into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the age of 93.

Beloved and devoted wife of Melvin Bergmann for 71 years, having just celebrated their anniversary on March 12. Loving mother of Steve (Patti) Bergmann and Debbie Rupnow. Proud grandmother of Jenny (Matt) Wolf, Jason (Heather) Bergmann, Josh (Kelsey) Rupnow, Calvin Rupnow (fiancée Molly Heck), and Shawn (Ashley) Rupnow. Cherished great-grandmother of Kyla Wolf, Ava Bergmann, Evie Bergmann, and Kalla Rupnow, and joyfully awaiting the arrival of two great-grandsons due this summer. Dear sister of the late Richard (Bonnie) Burns and sister-in-law of the late Robert (Marilyn) Bergmann, and Donald (the late Corinne) Bergmann. Beverly will further remembered by 12 nieces and nephews, their spouses and families, and many dear and cherished friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Viola (nee Branton) Burns and her step-parents, Arthur and Marie Neilson.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, Beverly built a life rooted in faith, family, and service. She and Melvin were married and raised their family in Milwaukee before moving to Mequon in 1989, where they built a beautiful home and spent many happy years. In January of this year, they moved to Jackson.

She and Mel shared a love of camping and traveling, taking trips throughout Wisconsin as well as to Florida and California to visit family. They also enjoyed traveling abroad, visiting China and Germany.

Beverly worked for many years as the head cook at St. Peter Immanuel in Milwaukee, where she was fondly known as the "lunch lady" to many. Her faith was central to her life. At St. Peter Immanuel and later at Trinity Lutheran Freistadt in Mequon, she was actively involved in bible studies, church committees, and numerous church activities. She and Melvin dedicated countless hours volunteering for their churches, the Milwaukee Blood Center, and Ascension St. Mary's Hospital in Mequon.

She treasured the friendships she made over the years through bowling and card playing, which brought her much joy and laughter. She was also a woman of many talents, enjoying sewing, crocheting, quilting, and creating beautiful cross-stitch pieces. She spent many happy hours painting ceramics alongside her sister-in-law Marilyn and niece Karen.

Above all, Beverly will be remembered for her loving heart, strong faith, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, at TRINITY LUTHERAN FREISTADT CHURCH, 10729 W. Freistadt Rd., Mequon, from 10-11:45 AM, followed by the funeral service at 12 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or to a charity close to your heart would be appreciated.

Interment at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Mequon.
