Ina Oyler Obituary

Ina Lillian Schwarze Oyler, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away in Sandy, Utah, on Saturday, March 16, 2013.

She was the fourth child of seven children born to George Frederick Schwarze and Lillian Wilhelmina Kienker Schwarze in Idaho Falls on Jan. 19, 1924. The family lived on a farm in Milo, Idaho. Ina was raised and attended schools in the Rigby/Milo area. She graduated from Ammon High School in 1942. Ina was always full of energy. She was a cheerleader in high school and college.

Ina attended Idaho State College (University) in Pocatello, where she studied art and received a certificate in teaching. She also studied with art professors from the University of Idaho and Utah State and taught school in Swan Valley, Idaho.

Ina was well-known for her oil paintings of the Teton mountain range. She showed paintings at several galleries in the Northwest and Mexico, including Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park. She taught art workshops in the region for many years and was a founding member of the Idaho Falls Art Guild.

Ina met Robert (Bob) Oyler in 1946. They got married in Las Vegas on May 25, 1947. Bob and Ina would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this spring. Ina and Bob have two sons, James L. Oyler and Patrick R. Oyler.

Ina and Bob loved to travel and visited many countries around the world. They enjoyed summers at their cabin in Palisades, Idaho, and spent winters at their casita in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico.

Ina enjoyed art, crafts, music and dancing. Her entire family excelled in these areas and she was very proud of their accomplishments. She loved singing around the campfire with her family.

Ina was hard-working and enjoyed life. Although the last few years were a bit difficult, Ina had many friends, good neighbors and family around her for support. We will miss her.

Ina is survived by her husband, Robert Oyler of Sandy, Utah; her sons, James (J.R.) Oyler of Boise and Patrick (Lori) Oyler of Sandy, Utah; grandchildren, Alex Oyler and Arynn Oyler (Dik) Lagerwerff, both of Boise, Jamie Oyler of Salt Lake City and Sean Oyler of Sandy, Utah; great-grandson, Hans Lagerwerff of Boise; brothers, Kenneth Schwarze of Milo, Idaho, and David Schwarze of Boise; and sister, Dawn Peterson of Idaho Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Weston Schwarze and Robert Schwarze; and her sister, Leila Bendixson.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Turtle & Crane and Lily & Syringa in Idaho Falls; Alta Ridge Communities in Sandy, Utah; and to the many family, friends, neighbors and caregivers for their thoughtful care and support of Ina. A special thanks to Brianne at Alta Ridge Alzheimer's Facility.

Memorial services are pending and will be held at a later time.

I always enjoy finding one of Ina's paintings in Idaho Falls at a thrift store, garage or estate sale.
She was a great artist in my opinion.

My deepest sympathies for your loss. I grew up in the neighborhood where the Oylers lived and was friends with Jim.

Robert, I want you to know that I send my deepest sympathy at this time. You and your family helped me years ago when you owned Electrical Enterprises in Idaho Falls. I worked for you and with Walter Whipple. You did some wiring for me on our home on 17th Street in Idaho Falls. I remain your friend.
