Chad Strohmeyer Obituary

It's a struggle to write in just a few lines about the extraordinary life that our son, Chad Strohmeyer led. He was the shining light of our life and one of our greatest accomplishments. We want to honor our Superhero, who we know is now busy on his Stars Wars-like journey in the afterlife.
Chad was a charmer who crashed a wedding of people he didn't know and ended up best friends with the bride. He was an all-star southpaw pitcher and right-handed golfer who was the base commander's ringer on the course at Misawa Air Base, Japan. Chad loved fishing, Cubs baseball, working out, golf, Milky Way candy bars, big cities, night life, plain cheeseburgers, country music, Braum's plain vanilla ice cream and spending time laughing with his family. He lived a 1,000 lifetimes in his 31 years.
Chad Carter Strohmeyer of Broken Arrow was the beloved son of Shawn and Carla Strohmeyer. He was born Nov. 6, 1986, at Blytheville Air Force Base, Ark., and passed away in his home, in his own bed, of medical causes in Alexandria, Va., on Nov. 30, 2017.
Chad was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, serving over 12 years performing multiple tours at Osan AB, Seoul, South Korea, Misawa AB and Yokota, AB Japan and deployment to Camp Lightning, Afghanistan. Chad volunteered to support the victims of Katrina and the tsunami/earthquake in Tokyo.
Chad was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, grandson, cousin, airman and friend. Chad is survived by his wife Seonim (Tina) Ahn-Strohmeyer; daughter Adreena Ahn-Strohmeyer of Falling Waters, W.V.; his sister, Shay Strohmeyer of Tulsa; parents, Shawn and Carla Strohmeyer of Big Cedar; his Korean family including mother in-law, Yoon-sook Kang; father-in-law, Jong-nam Ahn; brother-in-law, Hyun-joon Ahn; sister-in-law, Ah-ran Ahn of Seoul, South Korea; grandparents, Chuck and Kathy Strohmeyer of Enid and Irma Swartz of Poteau; aunt and uncle, Cristy and Doug King of Greenville, Ind.; Janna and Clay Hochwender of New Braunfels, Texas.
Chad was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Freeman and Mildred Combrink of Billings, Russell and Bernice French of Phoenix, Ariz., Maunt and Poiteaux Strohmeyer of Waynoka; and his much loved pets, Hwan-hee and Luna.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel in Enid. Pastor Jerry Holt will officiate.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Youth Services of Tulsa. A guestbook is available online at www.andersonburris.com.
