It is with great sadness we announce the death of F. Monty Strohmeyer. He passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at his home in Canyon Lake, Texas. Monty was born on September 18, 1937, to parents Ferdinand M. and Grace Strohmeyer of San Antonio, Texas.
If you knew Monty, you know he was a kind and generous soul and was a true gentleman till the end.
Monty was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Martha Strohmeyer.
Monty leaves to mourn him his wife Roze Strohmeyer of Canyon Lake, Texas; his daughter, Lynn Taylor and her three children, Amber, Ruston and Clayton, all of San Antonio, Texas. Also surviving are 4 great grandchildren and his stepson Robert Stuenkel of Dallas, Texas and a host of good bowlers and great friends who will miss him dearly.
Graveside service will be Saturday, November 15, 2025, 1:00pm at Memory Lawn Memorial Park, 19106 San Marcos Hwy, Martindale, Texas. A Memorial and Reception will be held at 4:00pm, Sunday, November 16, 2025, at United Methodist Church, 206 Flintstone Dr., Canyon Lake, Texas.

I remember Monty as one of the directors who interviewed me along with Howard Morganroth way back in 1986, the date of the challenger disaster. I didn´t think I´d get the job, but Monty and Howard saw something in me and pulled strings to hire me on. I started May 5th, 1986 and the first meeting I had with Monty he told me that the next time the company worried about me was when they were hiring my replacement as I was retiring decades later.
At the time I took it with a grain of salt, but 31 years and 3 months later sure enough I headed out the gate at the Calaveras power station that last time. In an odd twist of fate the very next day I ran into Monty at a Home Depot at the Forum in San Antonio and he still remembered me after all those years. I thanked him immensely for giving me that chance and will always be grateful! Rest in peace, sir!
