A memorial service for Danny Strohmeyer will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka. Danny Homer Strohmeyer, son of Homer Zachariah and Juanita Bessie (Wilson) Strohmeyer, was born April 15, 1940, at Waynoka and passed away September 18, 2025, at Alva at the age of 85 years, 5 months, and 3 days. Danny attended school in Waynoka. He joined the United States Army in 1957, proudly serving his country until his retirement in 1977. During his service, he was stationed overseas in both Germany and Korea. He served two combat tours in Viet Nam and was awarded a bronze star for his outstanding service. He was stationed at many bases throughout the country, including one of their favorites, Alaska. On May 21, 1960, he was united in marriage to Linda Kay "Katy" Nutter at Alva. To this union they had three children: Michael, Niki, and DaNae. After his retirement from the military, they made their home north of Waynoka where they raised their family. Danny's hobbies included golf, exercising and square dancing. He was a proud supporter of his kids' and grandkids' many activities. Besides his parents, Homer and Juanita, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, J.J. Louthan; his stepbrothers, Floyd Kysar, J.D. Kysar, and Sammy Kysar; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Kysar. Danny is survived by his wife of 65 years, Katy; his son, Michael Strohmeyer and wife, Linda, of Waynoka; his daughters, Niki Louthan of Alva and DaNae Hagelberg and husband, Larry, of Alva; 11 grandchildren, Lacy Perkins and husband, Tim, of Mountain View, Missouri, Kandace Seibert and husband, Owen, of Summerville, South Carolina, Faith Strohmeyer, Ethan Strohmeyer, and Katelin Strohmeyer, all of Waynoka, Brannan Louthan and wife, Samantha, Jack Louthan, Payne Louthan, and Myka Louthan, all of Alva, Talyn Hagelberg of Tulsa, and Jake Hagelberg of Stillwater; 12 great grandchildren, Lukas, Trenton, and Shayla Perkins, Harper and Bennett Siebert, Camden Strohmeyer, Chloe, Troy, Kylee, Ronan, Octavia, and Abigail Louthan, and one to be born in January; sisters-in-law, Jeannie Kysar of Waynoka and Oleta Kysar of Oklahoma City; many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Wounded Warrior Project.
