MELVIN G. KRAMER, 84, OF BOYERTOWN Melvin G. Kramer, 84, of Boyertown, passed away Thursday, March 6, at his residence. Melvin was born in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania on October 6, 1929, a son of the late Elsie (Messersmith) and Edward Kramer. He was a graduate of Mahanoy Twp. High School, Class of 1947. He was the husband of Margaret (Kehler) Kramer, whom he married on October 21, 1950. He was a member of Pottstown Church of the Nazarene and a member of the Central Pennsylvania Gospel Band, where he played trumpet for many years. He was formerly employed by Agway as a salesman. He is preceded in death by his brother Robert Kramer and an infant son, Ronald Melvin. In addition to his wife, Melvin is survived by a son, James E. Kramer and his wife Dawn, of Shamokin and a daughter, Patricia A. Stroop, wife of Howard, of Pottstown. In addition he is survived by his grandchildren; Adam Kramer, Grace Kramer, Brittany Stroop, Ryan Stroop and his wife Elizabeth, and one great grandchild to be born in June 2014. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday evening 6-8 p.m. at Pottstown Church of the Nazarene at 1045 Beech Street, Pottstown, PA. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 11, at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc. at 25 E. Main St. Schuylkill Haven, PA. A 10 a.m. viewing time will be followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Marvin Paisley officiating.
