Carl Houghtalen Obituary
Carl R. Houghtalen, 85, of Conklin, died at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 7, 2014. He was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Houghtalen Hughes and a son-in-law, Carl Houghtalen. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Betty J. Houghtalen; three daughters, Joan M. Houghtalen, Binghamton, Jean A. Houghtalen and fiancé Charles Ackley, Jr., Chenango Forks, and Sandy (John) Harrington, Richford, NY; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Jeannette Houghtalen, Sayre, PA.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Carl was a retired Singer Link employee retiring after 38 years of service as a cable designer, a job he truly loved and helped put a man on the moon. He attended the Conklin Presbyterian Church. Carl was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Funeral and Interment services will be held Monday at 4 PM from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. Reverend William Puckey will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home on Monday from 2 PM until service time at 4 PM. Expressions of sympathy in Carl's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech Street, Johnson City, New York 13790.

so sorry to hear about your loss ,carl helped my family out alot when i was a single parent ,if i needed help he and betty were there, he will be always be remembered
