Robert "Bob' Gordon Clewell
of Oak Ridge, Tenn.Robert "Bob' Gordon Clewell, age 85, of Oak Ridge, Tenn., died Sunday, November 28, 2004. He was born December 1, 1918 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the son of Clarence Wilson Clewell and Ila Maude Shortt Clewell. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army. Mr. Clewell retired from IBM, where he was a financial analyst. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and the Lions Club of Endicott, N.Y. For many years, he worked as a volunteer at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Binghamton, N.Y., and he enjoyed woodworking. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Althea Myrtle Keirle Clewell; son, Robert Harry Clewell, Kensington, N.H.; daughters, Susan Walter, Bouse, Ariz., and Cheryl Goforth, Knoxville, Tenn.; sister, Madge Gustavson, Glastonbury, Connecticut; four grandchildren, Christine Clewell, Kensington, N.H., James Blackburn, Columbine, Colo., Jeremiah Blackburn, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Tyler Goforth, Knoxville, Tenn.; and two great-grandchildren, Emily Blackburn, and Matthew Blackburn.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 1, 2004, in Oak Ridge, Tenn., with Rev. Tim Stallings officiating.
