Fred Yokoyama

YOKOYAMA, Fred - The "mover and shaker" of our family passed away due to heart and renal failure on August 1, 2007 at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. He came into this world as "Boy Yokoyama" on May 26, 1928, and was later named Fred. Deeply loved husband of 54 years of Kimi Yokoyama, loving father of Rick (Cindi) Yokoyama of Renton, WA, Douglas (Lana) Yokoyama of Belleville, IL, David (Michelle) Yokoyama of Santa Rosa, Mark (Julie) Yokoyama of Santa Rosa, and Sandy (Kevin) Tsujihara of La Canada; adored grandfather "Jichan' of Kelsey and Kyle, Michael, Nicholas, Andy, Jacqueline, Kayla, Missy, Matthew and Morgan; loving brother of Anne Ohki, Mary Hamamoto and Jim Yokoyama, all of Santa Rosa; Fred is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and his Uncle Henry Yokoyama of Sacramento; he is predeceased by his adored daughter Sherry and his beloved parents, George and Shigeno Yokoyama. He was born in Sebastopol and lived in Santa Rosa all his life. The saying, "to know him is to love him" could not fit Fred better. Whether it was in his landscaping work, on the golf course with his friends or all of the family and friend gatherings, Fred was the life of the party. He had his most wonderful times with his family; and special golf, dinner and get-togethers with the "International Seven", his lifelong friends. Although the light has gone out in our house, the beautiful and fun memories of Fred will turn the lights back on for us forever. Sayonara, Fred; our love for you is as deep as the ocean and as high as heaven. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at the Enmanji Buddist Temple, 1200 Gravenstein Highway South, in Sebastopol. Private inurnment.
