I remember Mr. David Averbuck as a guest speaker in Dr. Levell Holmes' U.S. History class. He was very animated and his voice full of passion while he asserts his point to you.

David taught my final class at Sonoma State University in 1992. What a fantastic human. He is most responsible for my now 27 years as a lawyer. RIP

I thoroughly enjoyed my classes with David on law and social work at UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Social Welfare in the mid-1980's. He was an inspiration for me who, as an attorney, was figuring out how to combine law and social work, with a commitment to social justice. David exemplified the best of both disciplines. His lively mind and dedication to improving the lives of people were always stimulating and uplifting. He was a positive force in the world and will be missed. I feel fortunate to have had him as a teacher.
