Frank DENNEY Obituary

DENNEY, Frank Frank Denney died at home on July 16th, 2015 at age 73 following a recurrence of pancreatic cancer. At an early age Frank's family moved to Menlo Park where he later graduated from Bellarmine College Prep in San Jose and San Francisco State University. Frank had been a highly respected member of the home building community throughout the past four decades, representing home builders in the North Bay and on the Peninsula, and was a very familiar public speaking figure at construction-related conferences. Frank's past leadership positions included chairman of the board of Home Builders Association of Northern California, and president of Northern Division of Home Builders Association of Northern California. He was a past member of the board of directors of North Coast Builders Exchange and also Sonoma County Alliance. Frank's many previous civic activities for the City of Santa Rosa included chair of the Housing Authority, the Redevelopment Agency, and Development Review Committee. He was active on several Santa Rosa development-related and planning-related committees. Frank was also a former Director for Burbank Housing and Development Corporation. During the recent new housing industry downturn, Frank practiced giving back to the community by volunteering to tutor reading for second graders. Frank also volunteered his time to work with Canine Companions for Independence. Frank is survived by his wife, Jackie D'Arcy Denney; and his sisters, Honor Denney of Portland, Joan Donald of Millbrae and Victoria Weaver of Santa Rosa. Frank and Jackie were avid international travelers, and he provided many informative stories to their friends. Donations in Frank's name are suggested for Canine Companions for Independence in Santa Rosa. A celebration of life will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5th, at Legends, the Bennett Valley Golf Course, Santa Rosa.

Hi Frank, still missing you so much. You were a light much brighter than on this candle. I hope you are with your dogs, Molly and Callie and Mom and Dad. I have consolation in Mom tolling me that you enjoyed being a "Big "Brother" to me. You did a fantastic job. I'm so fortunate to have you as my brother. I hope you are at peace and in a beautiful place.

I loved you Frank so much and so proud of all the accomplishments you succeeded in doing during your life. You were self made. You made your own life and worked so very hard to earn each step up the ladder of success. You helped me when I had cancer and I remember fondly all the loving and caring things you did for me. I recall growing up with you and all the funny things we did that puts a smile on my face. I miss you and will love you forever. Little Sister,
