Frederick Swift

Mr. Frederick Swift of Westbrookville, a retired Painter and 30-year resident of the area, died Sunday, December 3, 2006 at his home. He was 79.

He was born November 12, 1927 in Peach Creek, W.Va., the son of the late Adam and the late Katie Riley Swift. He was the founder and pastor for 30 years of the Emanuel Church of God Divine Mission in Christ, in the Bronx, N.Y. and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Duncan Swift at home; one son, Jonathan Swift of Middletown; two daughters, Heather Swift of Middletown and Janice Jewels of Mt. Vernon, N.Y.; two sisters, Cleopatra Young of Goshen and Lovie Gentiles of Westbrookville; four grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 9, at 1 p.m. at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 East Main Street, Port Jervis, with the Rev. A. Robin Martineau officiating. Cremation will be at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, Pa.
