To the Lynch Family,

May I extend my condolences. I worked with Dick during my tenure as the Director of Athletics at North Providence High School. He was great to work with and was always well informed and able to share his knowledge concerning not only sports, but the student athlete and the well-being of the Interscholastic League. I have great respect for this man and all he accomplished and for helping make me a better AD.
I miss those days with Mr. Lynch and Mr. Magarian, those were great years. God bless you, Dick, and may your family remember all the great times.

I'm sorry I was unable to attend services for your father, but you are certainly in my thoughts and prayers. It was a pleasure to work with and for your dad for many years at Cumberland High School. He spent his life in service to young people, and his love for his family was evident in everything he did. God Bless!

We were very saddened to hear of Dick's passing. Dick was a true gentleman who epitomized integrity, character, and honesty. During his careers in education and athletics, he touched and left a lasting impression on everyone he came in contact with. His legacy will live on for many generations to come. It was a pleasure to work by his side during our time together at the RIIL. Even more so, it was an honor to call him friend. We will miss our semi-annual dinners in Florida and Rhode Island. May the memories comfort you during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. RIP Dick ... you & Mary can now rest together for all eternity.

I was not surprised, but I was really saddened when I learned of the passing of my friend and colleague Dick Lynch. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Dick for more than 40 years. He was one of the most honest and professional individuals I have ever known. There was no pretense, just Dick. What you saw is what you got. If I had to select an individual as s prototype as a person and a professional role model, Dick would certainly be one of my primary considerations (and I would not have made a poor choice). I will miss Dick, but I known that I am a better person from knowing Dick Lynch!

Cicero once said that the greatest gift one could give was to train up youth. This was the mantra by which Dick lived his life as an educator, administrator, and as a brother basketball official. I was blessed to work with (and for) Dick as a Rhode Island basketball official back in the '80's. He was firm but fair, which are attributes that he passed on to me in my development as an official and attorney. I agree with Dick's nephew Chris: Dick Lynch was indeed an icon of a man. Thank you, Dick, for all you contributed to the lives of young people, to sports in general and to the game of basketball in particular, and to me personally. You will always be with me. Rest in peace, my friend and mentor.

I have had a lifetime of memories with my Uncle Dick. The constant is that great big smile he always seemed to have no matter what the occasion. After the passing of my Dad's sister Mary who we all know was Uncle Dick's wife I constantly thought how hard that must be for him. I seemed to talk to my wife about it at great lengths. Some time had passed and I was driving back from daughter's softball game. My wife asked about the game and then told me I was going to bring Uncle Dick a home made dinner. My daughter and I drove down to Wakefield RI and enjoyed great conversation and some pretty good food. I guess we stayed a while as Terry came over then Patty. We left with a great big smile on our face. I would send him a note or a card and was happy to have received one back from him. I still keeo it in my office today. I will end by saying I went to see Uncle Dick right before Christmas. Patty had given me a call. I saw him around 12. Noon, he was sleeping. He looked so peaceful sleeping there. Again I thought of the many memories I shared with this icon of a man. I left again without saying a word but my great big smile emerged again. Rest in peace Uncle Dick.
