Heather Mosher Obituary

BROAD BROOK - Heather Rebeccah Mosher, 31, loving wife to Dave, devoted daughter to Fred and Linda Lindsay, feisty sister to Keith and Tiffini, and snuggly auntie to Lenox, has left this world for her next great adventure on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017. They say the brightest flames burn out the quickest, and anyone who met Heather would agree her flame burned bright.

As well as being "bonus mom" to two wonderful girls named Molly and Sophia, Heather sought to help as many children as she could as a School Psychologist at Stafford Springs Elementary School.  A musical soul, she could often be found dancing, laughing and singing with her love and partner, Dave Mosher.  Heather spent her last moments as she spent her life; giving out love and affection to her family and innumerable friends.

To pay respects, the wake will be Friday, Dec. 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Plantsville Congregational Church, 109 Church St., and the Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, Dec. 30, at 11:30 a.m., also at the church. Donations in her memory can be made to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation @tnbcfoundation.org.

Peace and blessings to you and your family. I read your story on the Internet. I know that nothing I can say or pray can lessen your family's pain, but please know that your family inspired me and gave me hope. I am a breast cancer survivor, and I have spent too much time wondering why cancer happened to me and what if it comes back. I was really moved by Heather's focus on living while she was dying. Heather helped me to understand that love, gratitude, blessing, and helping others are so much more wonderful and important than fear and anxiety and being self-absorbed. Thank you for sharing this very private, holy experience with me, a stranger.
Please know that your family has been the touch of God in my life. And thank you for sharing her photo here, so I can see Heather before the illness. I saw her beautiful eyes full of love in your wedding photos, and her hair was beautiful when she was well. Having had chemo also, I can empathize. I look forward to meeting Heather and you in Heaven when the Lord calls us all home. In the meantime, I will love and serve God's people and those living and dying with cancer with greater tenderness and compassion because of Heather's life and the love you shared. God bless you and your family.

I was so moved by this story. I lost my sister to cancer in 2016 and it still hurts terribly. While our bodies give up, our spirits and memories are forever: cherish and remember always, and allow her to live through you.

My deepest prayers for the family.

In life she did not lose, but found a way to live life to the fullest right to the end. And in that way, at a time of most despair, made a way to take her over on the happiest possible moments in one's life. My sympathies to the couple, family and friends, but at the same time, congratulations to those who created this truly once in a lifetime moment for them. Love will always be there.

I am so sorry for your loss. This is a very sad story. I just couldn't imagine it happening to anyone. Heather Rebeccah was so beautiful and bright. I did not know her but I was moved by her sad story. The Lord gives and takes. She is in a better place now and would always smile because she still got her wish - to be married to her best friend. May her soul rest in peace. She was married to a good man. I pray God grants him the strength to move forward with his life. God bless her family and friends.

I was lucky enough to meet this beautiful, bright light at the South Windsor Farmers Market; we shared our Breast Cancer stories with each other. She was not deterred by her diagnosis, she held her head high with pride, dignity, determination and was scouring every avenue she possibly could to find a way to kick Cancer's butt. I'm so glad she married her soulmate; the way they looked at each other was honestly, inspirational; you could see the love, literally. Although I only got a few minutes with her, she has left an impression on my heart & soul forever. May her family and friends find peace in their memories. Sheila Strong
