Dear Deborah and Susan, I served with Rich on board the USS TARAWA for about three plus years. We were young sailors back then on a brand new ship - the first of her kind. Rich was a character but "good people." While on our first WESTPAC we went on liberty many times togeher and established a good friendship. He was proud to be from Connecticut and me from Texas. We always joked about our different cultures and I took no offense when he called me "Beaner." Can't tell you how bad I felt when I first found out he was ill and I couldn't help but cry when I heard of his passing. Cherish his memories and may the comfort of your family and friends ease the pain.

"Many people walk in and out of our lives but only true family and friends leave footprints in your heart."

Rest in Peace my old friend...tq

Rich was truly a wonderful man, one of the good ones. A wonderful loving husband, father and friend. May you take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you. In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always. Grief can be so hard, but our special memories of Rich will help us cope. Debbie and Susan you are in my heart, there are no words to tell you how sorry and sad I am that this had to happen.
