I just learned of Sylvia's passing and I send my prayers and condolences to the family. I met Sylvia when we both participated in the Substance Abuse Counselor Certificate Program at UOP. For six months she sat behind me and we supported each other through this process. Every night she brought her energy and enthusiasm for learning. I truly enjoyed having her as my colleague and friend. I will miss her.

Dana, my condolences to you and your family on the loss of your incredible mother. One of her many friends mentioned that she had passed away recently and I was surprised. Sylvia was so full of energy, enthusiasm, and just a quest for learning. Forever the observant consultant she was, I was always appreciative of her constructive feed back on my office, my staff, and likely of me, of what we did right and most importantly, what we needed to work on. She communicated with such grace, diplomacy and that warm smile. I know she loved life but loved her family even more. Such a gem of a person, I know she will be sorely missed. I hope you and your family are doing well and stay well. Again, I am so sorry for the loss.

I remember Sylvia from my time at St.Joseph’s, her leadership classes were inspiring and innovative. She motivated you to want to do your best. She left a great legacy as well as a truly caring nurse in her daughter Dana that I had the pleasure to work with. My sincere condolences to the family.

Sending deepest sympathies from Our Cameron Way neighborhood. Sylvia was always willing to help when a wayward pet went missing. Her generous wave and smile were present as we walked our kids to Lincoln Elementary using the crosswalk right at her corner. Thank you for posting the wonderful memorial of a truly great lady. Sending prayers to the family. She was an inspirational woman. The times that I spent with her are memorable. I wouldn't see her for a while and it would seem like we would continue where we left off. I will keep you all in my prayers.

I had the pleasure of knowing Sylvia as an educator at St Joseph’s. She was a great teacher and I admired her constant drive to continue educating herself and others. I admire her as a mother who has raised an amazing, caring daughter who also always gives of herself to those around her. With deepest sympathy to the family for your loss. Julie S.
