Robert (Bob) C. Barrett, Jr. of San Francisco passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2026 at 87 years old. He is predeceased by his parents Robert C. Barrett, Sr. and Elizabeth (Betty) Donovan Barrett in San Francisco and sisters Marybeth and Claire (John Kiely). He is survived by Mary, his beloved wife of 63 years, three children Chuck (Gaye), Jim (Cindy) and Jennifer, two grandchildren Robbie and Nick, and 16 nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
A third generation San Franciscan, Bob attended NDV, Saint Ignatius, and Santa Clara University. He had a strong conviction to build and give back to his community along and with a thirst for lifelong learning. A lifetime member of St. Cecilia parish, he was a longtime lector and Knight and served on the Finance Committee. Upon his retirement, he also served at St. Anthony's dining room and on the Board for the Sisters of Holy Name. He was also a 75-year member of the Olympic Club.
He was a Trust Investment Portfolio Manager with Bank of America and Wells Fargo. He was a member of the Security Analysts of San Francisco and a Fellow of the Financial Analysts Federation. He also completed FAF sanctioned studies at U.C. Berkeley, the Graduate School of Business at Stanford and the University of Chicago.
He shared his passion for sailing and hiking with his family. If there are any sailboats or hiking trails in Heaven, he will surely find them.
A Funeral Mass was held at St. Cecilia on February 11 and private burial at Holy Cross.
