Andrew Van Vliet Obituary
Formerly of Chester, NY
Andrew G. Van Vliet, 46, formerly of Chester, NY, died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at his home in Cape Vincent, NY.
He was born June 20, 1963 in Goshen, NY, the son of Albert and Margaret Nicholsen Van Vliet.
He worked as a carpenter for many years for R C Construction in Washingtonville, NY.
Surviving are four brothers and their wives: Albert and Tamara Van Vliet of Central, AK, Marinus and Vivian Van Vliet of Tampa, FL, Paul and Betty Lou Van Vliet of Cape Vincent, NY, and Gary and Claudia Van Vliet of Monroe, NY; a sister and her husband, Margaret and Robert Weydemeyer of Columbia Falls, MT, as well as nieces and nephews. A brother, Peter Van Vliet and a sister, Anna Van Vliet died before him.
A memorial service will be held from 6:30–9 p.m., Friday, February 5, at Craigville Bible Church, 789 Craigville Rd., Chester, NY.
Donations in his name may be given to Craigville Bible Church.

Paul, Betty and the entire Van Vliet family. I don't think we can count the amount of people who have been touched by Andy while he was with us.. He was truly the most gentle, loving man I have ever met. He always had a special place in my heart which will continue throughout eternity. My memories of our time together will live on. Deepest sympathy to the family. Just learned today about Andrew from my Brother Larry Van De Ree, who heard from David Fieldhouse. I am Alice Hooper (formerly Van De Ree, Aunt Anna's daughter - sister of Albert. We have lost touch with some of the family. I remember Andrew as a tall and gentle person, with a quick smile. Andy and I went to high school together and we graduated the same year, 1982. I have been thinking about him a lot since I learned of his passing and I've recalled many good memories of the fun times we had partying at his house years ago, back in the early 1980s.
