Robert Thompson Obituary

Robert L. Thompson Mr. Robert Lee Thompson, 63, of 600 Glendale Court, Apt. #A-19, died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville. Memorial service for Mr. Thompson will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mitchell's Funeral Home Chapel with Anthony L. Malchan officiating, a brother with the Greenville South congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mr. Thompson was born a native of Norfolk, Va. As a young child, along with his parents, he relocated to Pitt County. He was preceded in death by his father, William Thompson; and brother, Harrison Thompson. He was employed for 21 years by East Carolina University in Grounds Department. He was a lover of people, mainly family, and dedicated in all things set before him to accomplish. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Annie Holley Thompson; mother, Mrs. Reatha T. Wooten of Greenville; father-in-law, Mr. John Anderson Holley; daughter, Carol J. Boyd of Greenville; two sons, Reggie Johnson of Kinston and Kene Johnson of Greenville; three sisters-in-law; three nieces; a nephew; 11 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the home prior to the memorial service on Saturday. Arrangements handled by Mitchell's Funeral Home, Greenville.
