Kevin Phelps Obituary
Reno (1/29/1961-2/24/2018) - Kevin Phelps, husband, father, brother and friend, passed away suddenly on February 24, 2018.
Kevin was born to Margaret and Paul Phelps in Oakland, California. He spent his early childhood in Oakland prior to moving to Reno. He graduated from Wooster High School and then received degrees in Geology and Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno. He has worked as a civil engineer in Reno until his passing.
Kevin is survived by his wife Janie, daughter Megan, son Patrick, brother Michael and several nieces and nephews.
Kevin worked hard and played hard. He enjoyed most every sport, but his favorites included snow and water skiing, golf, and mountain biking with his dogs. He was an encyclopedia of sports information and especially enjoyed watching college football and basketball with family and friends.
Kevin left us too early and he will be missed. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
The family requests any donations be made to JDRF Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Nevada Humane Society.
