James E. Telander (Tee), 79, father, Vietnam veteran, avid golfer and traveler, died peacefully, Friday July 26, 2013 in Reno, NV. He was the loving husband of the late Mary Lee (Sperling) Telander. Born in Clay Center, KS August 4, 1933. Tee was the son of the late Willard (Pete) and Juanita Telander. He was also, preceded in death by his sister Donna Mae Cinnamon. Tee was both a Navy and Air Force veteran who served as a medic, 22nd Casualty Staging Flight, Da Nang Air Base, Vietnam, January 1969 to 1970. He retired from the Air Force after 23 years at the rank of Master Sergeant. He continued to work another 10 years as a hospital services manager with ServiceMaster's. Survivors: sons, Frankie (Carol) and Johnny (Berneta) Rohrbough, Steven (Angie) and Phillip (Maggie) Telander; daughters Sharon (Larry) Beichle, Debbie (Tony Graves) McDaniel, Tami (Jay) Preston, and Lori (Thad Cook) Blair; 25 grand children, and 14 great grand children. Services: Friday 2 August at Downing & Lahey Mortuary,Wichita, KS. Burial will follow at the Kensington Gardens Cemetery. Two years ago we celebrated our 60th class reunion. We decided we shouldn't wait 5 yrs again so planned to celebrate our 80th birthdays on Sept. 28. We will miss Tee. We always looked forward to his visits home. So sorry for your loss.
