Jason Neary Obituary

Jason Lewis Neary

Reno - Jason Lewis Neary passed away at his home in Reno on December 4, 2019, at the age of 51, after a seven-month battle with leukemia. His mother Patricia and loving partner Lori Mayfield were by his side. Jason was born in Burlingame, California, and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He attended College Park High School in Pleasant Hill, where he excelled in track and football. Athletics was an important part of his life and he was an avid fan of his alma mater, the University of Connecticut, and locally for the University of Nevada, Reno.

After enjoying some world travels, Jason moved to the Lake Tahoe area where he fell in love with the Lake, referring to it as his "church." He worked as the Director of Conference Sales for the North Lake Tahoe Visitors and Convention Bureau, where for over two decades, he travelled throughout the states promoting the Lake Tahoe-Reno area. Jason had a special talent for bringing people together, whether it was on his boat on the Lake, dinners at La Famiglia Ristorante in Reno, or barbeques and holiday dinners at his or his parents' homes. He supported many local charities, including the Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe and Give Hope. Jason will be remembered for his love of life, laughter, and making others feel special.

Jason was preceded in death by his father John, and is survived by his mother Patricia, brother Sean, partner Lori Mayfield, a niece, aunts and uncles, and numerous cousins. A memorial celebration will be held in the summer.
