I will miss the Christmas cards, and sending you random post cards. I am proud to call you my Uncle. I hope you are resting in peace with Auntie Mary. I already have our Christmas present, but now I will have it out for decoration every year and think of you! You are loved and missed very much. XOXO

I remember spending a summer with Auntie Mary and Uncle Dan at their home in Walnut Creek. We had a lot of fun. I was introduced to how fun mass can be if you attend the right one. We would go to Baskin-Robbins for ice cream. My Aunt was an artist and had me sit for hours while she painted a portrait of me. They had different colored glass bottles all around the top shelf of the kitchen. I had told them that wasn't safe if there was an earthquake. That was a great summer! I was fortunate to be able to spend time with them. Now Uncle Dan and Auntie Mary are together again. Until we meet again, love you both.

I met Dan many years ago. He was such a gentleman! Although he was a very quiet person, he liked to talk to me and to tease me.
I had the pleasure of visiting him during his last days here on earth. Farewell Dan. Vaya con Dios

I met Dan many years ago through my friend Carol. Dan was a gentleman in every way. Although he was a very quiet person he did like to talk to me and tease me.
It was a blessing to visit Dan on his last days here on earth.
Rest In Peace Dan! Vaya con Dios

Dan was a such a great guy - a real joy to know. He was also extremely important to the success of our archaeological excavations in Virginia City. He was a genius at assembling the shattered and scattered bits of artifacts, putting together treasures that were central to the success of exhibits and for helping people to understand the value of the archaeology. Besides that, Dan and Chris were a pleasure, adding so much to the projects. They are both missed. The photo is an example of Dan's work - the oldest bottle with a Tabasco Pepper Sauce seal that Dan glued together from over twenty fragments.

I am very sorry to hear of Dan's passing. My late husband and I spent many happy days with them on shore when we were on the 2006 world cruise. Chris and I did Tai Chi together. Rest in peace my friend and give Chris my love
