Mark Leum

MARK LEUM, 88 ROCKFORD - Mark Leum, 88, of Rockford, died July 17, 2015 in Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Born Apr. 29, 1927, in Fargo, ND the son of Henry and Clara (Findahl) Leum. He married Lois Peterson in 1950 in Eureka, KS. Mark served in the US Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Luther College and a Master's Degree from the University of Iowa. Mark worked as an engineer at Woodward Governer where he had served as President and a member of the Board of Directors. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and served on numerous boards. Mark is survived by his wife, Lois; children, John (Kathleen) of Montgomery, Erik (Ellen) of Palm Beach, FL, Jo Ann (Ron) Swenson of Caledonia, and David (Nichole) of Rockford; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother, Neil (Jan) Leum of Minneapolis. Predeceased by his son, Ward in 1976. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 4700 Augustana Dr. with Rev. Jill Flynn officiating. Private burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service.
