It's hard to believe that five years have passed since we lost our friend, Dean. I think about him frequently, especially around Legion activities and Boys' State. A special moment this spring was having Steve reach out in support of Rutland area delegates as part of his SAL position. Glad the Burgess tradition of service is alive and thriving. Best to Noreen and the entire Burgess family.

Mr. Burgess was a youthful and wonderful man! His passion for the youth of Rutland county is beyond words. When he visited school I enjoyed many a conversation with him. He adored Whitney and Brenna and was so proud of them. How lucky we all were to have known such a wonderful man.
Blessings and Prayers....

Dear Noreen and Family,
On behalf of Dean's Boys' State family, please accept our heartfelt condolences on your loss. Dean's involvement and dedication to Boys' State provided such wonderful opportunities to hundreds of young men from the greater Rutland area! His presence over the past several years made the Boys' State experience a special time for delegates and staff alike. He will be missed but not forgotten. We will remember him through the young people he helped become the next generation of Vermont's leaders.
Thank you for sharing him with us. We are much the better for knowing him and calling him friend.
